We left home after 2 days of tiring but fun wedding party for our MINI holiday in Bali. Why MINI ? Coz we always wanted to be away for one moneth…to what we call a REAL holiday but we can never do it this time round after a month in Singapore so the plan is for it to happen next year. Setting off on our KL 835, we landed in Bali safely ..called the driver Yandra and soon it feels like days in Malaysia. Roads are small lanes, though dark ..i can see the filthy roads …filled with cars ( mainly small MPVs) with focus on driving tonnes of ang moh tourist around. Bali is really hot amongst caucasians, not as much Asians. We arrived at Jalan Ayu..but can’t find the hotel but i can’t wait to shop at the small boutiques that we drove past as we tried in vain in search of the Seminyak. The boutiques focus mainly on beach wear….well cut linen tops by individual designers..Billabong..Roxy…and French..Italian, Warungs ..and pubs…i know we are near. Finally after a call, we found the hotel and was warmly welcomed by the front office with frangipani garlands and a welcome drink. Somehow i enjoyed the warm hospitality extended and they are very prompt to help change our room with a queen size bed. One common question : Are you here for honeymoon? They like to ask..and when we replied yes. they will reply Congratulations. Kennie has asked us to try telling everywhere we go that we’re on honeymoon..from the moment we checked in to Bali @ Changi to the hotel we stay in..seems like this doesn’t help in upgrades..special surprises..i think becoz it’s Bali and they get honeymoon couples almost everyday..but one thing the hotel did as promised on marketing brochure in Bali..we have flower petals decorated in the shape of heart on our bed sheet to welcome us. We decide to take a early rest and to explore and discover one of this EAT PRAY LOVE cities…Good night Bali and the adventure begins..
