Inner Mongolia (Day 6) :: Wu Tai Shan 五台山

That morning, we visit 5 temples in total.
– Wan Fo Ge (万佛阁) – Ta Yuan Ci (塔院寺) – Xian Tong Ci (显通寺) – Dai Lei Ding (黛螺顶) – and finally, 菩萨顶

One of the temples was on top of 108 steps. Do I hear exclamations? Well, that was the easy one. The final temple was on top of the hill with 1080 steps … woo hoo … it was damn tiring to climb up that hill. Furthermore, the wind that kept blowing was so cold. Made my head, jaw and even teeth ache. The view luckily was not too bad. Special note here … Esther was the first girl up the hill. Despite being the smallest girl in the group, she climbs really fast and she did not even look like she was panting. Amazing!!!
*** 3 of the girls stayed at the foot of the hill, sparing themselves the trouble of the climb.

The hill to be climbed

Half way up, not going strong!

Made it!!!

Pretending to be 18 Luo Han (only 14 ppl though)

and the heavenly fairies!!! haha!

We initially intended to climb up and then take the cable car down the hill, but due to the strong wind, the cable car was suspended and we had no other choice but to walk down ourselves. Fortunately, walking down was not that difficult.

Off to TaiYuan (太原). We reached Tai Yuan relatively early (1900 hours) and we still had some of the night to walk around the city even after checking into our hotel. Didn’t do very much though, since most of the shops were going to close already.

That night, we played another game – Murderer. It was quite an interesting game, but I must say that I make a very poor commentator or judge. Totally confused judge! Haha! Esther and Zhoujin, don’t laugh, you aren’t any better!
