After breakfast, we bid farewell to the beautiful grassland. It was definitely regrettable that we did not manage to do a lot of things at the grassland. We headed back to Hohhot to visit various temples and attractions.
1. Zhao Jun Cemetary (æ˜å›å¢“)
She was one of the 4 most beautiful women in China’s history. Her story is very interesting but it shan’t be repeated here. Her body does not lie here. Most of the ceremonial tombs only contain the dead person’s possessions.
2. Da Zhao Ci (大å¬å¯º)
The biggest lama temple in Inner Mongolia.
3. Qing General’s Residence (清代将军衙署)
One of the general’s residence.
After the tour of the 3 places, we made yet another butt numbing journey into Datong, Shanxi (大åŒ, 山西). We only arrived at around 2130 hours. It was really tiring and I admire the driver who drove continuously for almost 5 and a half hours continuously. At Datong, we had another tour guide join us. His name was Zhang Liang (å¼ äº®), and he was going to be the one showing us around in the Shanxi area. He was most definitely a overly hyper tour guide. There goes all our chances to sleep on the bus. Initially, I did not really like the new guide because he was way too loud and way too talkative. But over the rest of the trip, I thought that he was a really good tour guide, who could engage people and really know his stuff very well.
Night 4’s hotel in Datong. Not too bad!
