Early (11 am) at the exhibition centre, the work day doesn’t start too early and ends very late 8 pm.
Our booth, part of the Singapore Pavillion and delegation brought out to Dubai by IE Singapore.
The 1st day at the exhibition was quite exciting. It was my first time at a trade exhibition as an exhibitor. Whenever people came near the booth, it was nice to chat with them and introduce what the company did. I could explain almost everything (from my 2 days of informal product training back in Singapore) but when it came to pricing, I still had ot leave it to the experts.
Eventually the day came to a close at 7 pm. We headed to the hotel near by Hotel Novotel, because it was impossible to get a taxi out of that place to anywhere and that the jam all over Duabi was a killer. After the nice dinner, then we decided to head out some place to enjoy ourselves for the “hard first days of work”.
We tried Cyclone, which was a recommendation by my dad, but was turned down by the girls as it was a pick up joint and also had quite expensive cover charge.
Eventually, we ended up at a little bar in the hotel opposite our hotel. Better than nothing.
