Phnom Penh – Okay Guesthouse
Arrived back at the bus station at around 1 pm and pointed out a tuk tuk driver that was also “recommending” Okay Guesthouse and so ‘arrowed’ him to bring us there for US$1. (Everything also count US dollar, it really makes things in Cambodia rather expensive.) Our room cost US$5 per night, without TV, hotwater, or air conditioning. It was reasonable.
Did alot that afternoon. After lunch at the local market, visited the National Museum (US$3), the Royal Palace (US$3), Walked along the Ton Le Sap River up to Wat Phnom (US$1), then walked down Monivong Boulevard towards the Independence Monument. The heat of the day was a killer, but simmered a little in the evening with a short shower of rain.
The National Museum, a lot of artifacts from Angkor Temples such as the heads of the Buddha that got cut off.
The Royal Palace (part of) – you had to even pay US$3 to bring in a camera. Tourism!!!
The Silver Pagoda, beside the Royal Palace. (Cambodia is too hot to be sight seeing in the middle of the day!)
Wat Phnom
Walking down the river side
The Independence Monument
Local funfair that we happened to chance upon that night. Seems like fun!
