Wuxi 无锡 Industrial Visit :: Day 2

Day broke, not as quickly as I would have liked it …

This morning’s itinerary was the Tang Dynasty Village 唐城, where history supposedly came to life?! They had filming here as well … Kind of similar to the Tang Village in Spore, but on a larger scale.

Here’s a bunch of people play acting and being really silly. There is even a video of the hilarious scene that occurred!

Lunch, once again, at a very jialat place, but can’t help it since it’s all catered for mass order.

Here’s the kitchen where they churn our food out.

紫砂工厂 Purple Clay Factory

There was a demonstration of the capabilities of a purple clay tea pot – good for the tea, floats on water – and it was the usual sales pitch, buy now and get good discount (and we will also give your tour guide a cut so he will treat you all nicer). Haha! Just being cynical, lah!

太湖 Taihu

Taihu is the largest fresh water lake in China, it is 4 times the size of Singapore’s surface area, but it’s depth is only 4 metres deep. It was a foggy day and we were not able to see across the lake from land to land. We sat on a ferry that brought us to Fairy Island 神仙岛 where people prayed and admired the beauty.

Here’s Weijun lazing on top of the roof of the ferry. It was really a lazy ride, since we could not really see anything in the fog.

After the Taihu visit, we were on our way back to Shanghai. The train ride was on a soft bed seat because they did not have enough soft seats and had added bed carriages to make up the shortages. So, 3 people to 1 bed.

So, here ends the Wuxi trip, very memorable, but hoping to forget it.
