Dubai (Day 2) :: Preparation and Sight Seeing

After checking into the hotel around 3 am, we slept for a couple of hours, before heading out to the Gold Souk to walk around and check out what Dubai has in store for us (me).

Serene, Me, my Dad and Joanne

We roamed the souk for a bit before we rest at this local fruit juice store and tasted the “famous” Fruit Cocktail that my dad and Joanne kept bragging about. They had it at Abu Dhabi previously, and thought it was fantastic. This drink was very creamy (milk added) and I felt so full after drinking a single glass. It was not like the one at Abu Dhabi apparently. Thankfully! Cos’ if it was, then I would have to say that my dad and Joanne had bad taste.

Highly attractive colours in the drink, but very creamy. This was had at another local eatery at a later date (Al Safida).

After which, we headed to the exhibition centre to make preparations for the exhibition.

It was a huge place and there were a few exhibitions going on simultaneously, from Hong Kong Fashion to Singapore, to China, to Indonesian exports.

Preparation was on-going

After the set up, we went once again to tour Dubai.

Next stop – Deira City Centre, a huge shopping mall (there really isn’t any small malls in Dubai) where we spent hours walking till we were so tired, we went back to zzz …

Dinner was fast food, as food court was under renovation and sighs …

The taxi queue, which took about 1 hour of waiting before getting a taxi
